YMCA’s Emergency Response Resource Update
In the wake of the recent fires, the Santa Monica Family YMCA has mobilized efforts to support our community during this challenging time. We’re proud to share the impactful work being done thanks to the dedication of our team, volunteers, and generous partners. We will continue to communicate our community needs from the destruction and displacement of the Palisades Fire to our communities on the coast of LA.

Our Impact
- 3,250+ meals distributed, transported, or coordinated since Thursday to our Y community, SMPD & National Guard Tactical Deployment team and other community members in need.
- 80+ children attended our free Emergency Day Camp during the school closures.
- Reopened our facility operations on Thursday for our members to have a place for community amidst the chaos.
- Early Learning Center & After School Enrichment: As of Friday, both services are fully operational with youth remaining indoors and monitoring air quality.
- Community Room: Open as a safe haven offering grab-and-go resources. While we’ve paused physical item donations due to overflow, we will continue to meet the increasing needs of families facing financial and emotional hardships.
- Emergency Financial Assistance: Providing aid to members and program participants affected by the fires.
