Together at The Y:
4th of July Parade Celebration
This Independence Day, our YMCA proudly showed up for the community in full red, white, and blue! Staff, board members, volunteers, and families came together to walk in the Santa Monica 4th of July Parade, celebrating the spirit of unity, service, and joy that defines our Y.
Our YMCA van, which usually is used to transport kids in our after-school programs, was decked out in patriotic flair and transformed into a rolling celebration. With music blasting and smiles all around, our team passed out fans, bubbles, and festive necklaces to parade-goers along the route. It’s always fun to see the YMCA dance in the crowd! Thank you to everyone who joined us, cheered us on, and helped make this another unforgettable community moment.
“There’s something powerful about showing up, not just in matching shirts, but in shared purpose. When our YMCA walks together, we’re not just celebrating a holiday, we’re reminding everyone that community is built step by step, together. “We are more than a center; we are centered by those we serve, committed to building a thriving, connected community far beyond our walls.” – Hodge Patterson, CEO, Santa Monica Family YMCA
Let’s keep that spirit going all summer long. We rise, thrive, and celebrate together at the Y.
