It is the intention of the leadership of the Santa Monica YMCA to express its sincere appreciation and recognize donors that contribute toward the YMCA’s Endowment Program. All donors contributing to the YMCA Endowment will be recognized as members of the Santa Monica Family YMCA’s “Ralph Kiewit Society” and will be defined as within one of two categories:

1. The Lifetime Membership Level: Contributors of a $10,000 or more outright or planned future gift confirmed with a non-binding statement of intent. A gift at or above this level is recognized as a lifetime membership.
2. The Friends Level: Contributors of an annual $100 or more gift to the Endowment Fund. Donors maintain friends membership through an annual gift.

The emphasis of the YMCA’s endowment program will be on growing the number of individuals participating at this level. The objective is to enhance the level of prestige associated with this level. Donors will be recognized in the following ways:

1. Name or designation will be prominently displayed on a donor wall area within the YMCA following the Y receiving the gift.
2. Invitation to an annual Legacy Society event.
3. Annual personal visit with the YMCA CEO.
4. Names displayed in the YMCA’s Annual Report.
5. Commemorative gift – a coat pin

Giving categories will be recognized at the following giving levels upon the Y’s receipt of the gift:

1. Visionaries: $1,000,000
2. Founders: $500,000- 999,999
3. Builders: 250,000-499,999
4. Benefactors: $100,000-249,999
5. Altruists: $50,000-99,999
6. Ambassadors: $25,000- 49,999
7. Members: $10,000- 24,999

The purpose of this level is to recognize broader based giving interest in the endowment fund and cultivate interest in a legacy level gift over time. Donors will be recognized in the following ways:

1. An acknowledgement letter for each contribution.
2. Invitation to an annual reception celebrating the legacy and future of YMCA work.

Donors will be invited to make a minimum of a $100 contribution annually and will be recognized as explained within this level for each year that the minimum contribution is made.
