Nationwide Membership
When you join the Santa Monica Family YMCA, not only do you gain access to our amazing Y – your membership also comes with Nationwide access! Nationwide Memberships give you access to a network of Y’s across the country, including Puerto Rico!
The Santa Monica Family YMCA is proud to be an independently operated Y. Members of surrounding YMCAs may access the Santa Monica Family YMCA using the Nationwide system.
We Recommend Following These Guidelines Before Visiting a Y Outside of Your Home Association
Please note: At least 50% of your monthly visits to the Y must be to your Home Y (the local association that you joined originally and collects your membership dues). Nationwide membership is based on individual usage, not the overall usage of your couple or family membership. All Ys reserve the right to restrict or revoke nationwide membership privileges. Registered sex offenders are prohibited from participating.
Call Before You Visit
Contact the Y you plan to visit in advance to ensure it is one of the more than 2,600 Ys in the U.S. participating in the nationwide membership program.
Ask About Benefits
Each Y may have different membership benefits than the Santa Monica Family YMCA.
Activate Membership
Only active members have access to nationwide membership. If your membership at your “home” branch is inactive, on hold, or an insurance-paid membership, your access may be limited.
Bring the Essentials
Bring your photo ID and plan to sign a liability waiver when you visit other Ys. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign the waiver for you.
