After School Enrichment

Afterschool Enrichment is FULL for the 2024/2025 school year. To add your name to a waitlist, please contact daycamp@ymcasm.org and include your student’s first and last name, school and grade.

Our After School Enrichment program provides quality, affordable and dependable care to elementary and middle school students in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. We provide after-school care, offering a safe place for youth to learn, grow, and thrive socially, emotionally, and physically. Program activities include homework support, designated snack time, arts & crafts, sports and STEM.

Program details: Our After School Program is located at the Santa Monica Family YMCA. Program runs from bell dismissal time through 6pm, Monday-Friday. Children may be picked up by YMCA van or dropped off by parent/guardian at the YMCA after 1pm.

School Pick-up Information:  Carpool service is available from Santa Monica Public Schools to the Santa Monica Family YMCA. Your child will be picked up at their classroom or designated area by YMCA staff and be safely transported to the Santa Monica Family YMCA. Our staff pays attention to dismissal schedules and will pick up children according to their school grade schedule when school is out. Carpool service is available for $40 per month with registration. Space is limited and must be approved by the After School Enrichment Coordinator.

Drop-Offs Welcome:  Participants may also be dropped off and signed in. Enrichment participants may be dropped off after 1:00 pm.

After-School Enrichment Registration: After-School Enrichment participants must be Santa Monica Family YMCA members.  Click Here to register online.   Additional After School Enrichment fees include one time $50 registration fee. Participants may register for one day a week or up to all five days.  All prices will be prorated to the participant’s start date. Prices are not reduced/prorated for missed days.

Day Camp

When School is out, Camp is in!

The Y offers one-day School Break Day Camps as well as Winter, Spring, and Summer Day Camps when school is out for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

According to the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Calendar, Day Camps are available for preschool and elementary campers during school holidays, spring/winter breaks, and summer vacations. Day Camp is a great place for your child to play in a safe environment that encourages character development, healthy lifestyles, and fun!

All Campers:   Staff ratio 1 to 6 campers

Camp Hours:   8:30am-6:00pm

Camp Activities & Daily Schedule
Camp days are split into 45-minute segments and include programs utilizing our state-of-the-art facilities. Activities are age and developmentally-appropriate, incorporate special events and group games, and use such areas as the indoor basketball gym, roof-top play area, tumbling gym, arts and crafts room, and multi-purpose game rooms.

Camp Registration
All campers must register to participate. Fees vary depending on the child’s age, membership, and registration date. Click Here to register online. In addition to the registration form, all campers must have a Camper Information Packet on file.

Financial Aid

Mini Day Camp

Mini-Day Camps are available to provide kids a safe place to learn, grow and thrive while schools are out for Holidays or conference days!

Elementary & Pre-K Day Camps: Offer a day filled with activities such as crafts, swimming, Gaga Ball, basketball, group games, outdoor play & tumbling, while utilizing our great facilities. All activities are adjusted to be age appropriate to offer safe and challenging fun for all ages. A typical day starts with check-in from 8:30am to 9:30am, then, campers attend Morning News (camps songs, skits, announcements), after which campers split off to their age specific groups and rotate throughout the building enjoying camp activities until 6:00pm.

Pre-K Campers: Pre-K full day campers have a nap-time and should bring napping items (blanket, lovies etc. and an extra change of clothes). All Pre-k campers must be 3 years old before September 1, 2024 and be fully potty trained. Please consult our Day Camp Policies and Guidelines for definitions of fully potty trained. Full-Day (8:30-6pm) or half-day (8:30-1:00pm) options are available.

Teen Campers also known as, Counselors in Training, work with Counselors to provide younger campers a fun and safe experience. Teen campers also participate in activities designed specifically for them. Teen campers must have a love for kids and be respectful, caring, honest, and responsible young adults. Teen campers must be available from 8:30am-5:00pm.
